Google Chrome browser suddenly has a paid version: For 6 USD/month, this is what you get

Even though there is a paid “Premium” version, most users will continue to use the free version of the Chrome browser.

For a long time, in parallel with the end-user version of Chrome, Google also created a special version of Chrome specifically for business environments called Chrome Enterprise.

With Chrome Enterprise, IT teams have the ability to manage employees’ browser settings, such as the extensions they install and the web apps they use. More importantly, they also get some security control features.

Recently, Google announced a new version of Chrome browser for organizations called Chrome Enterprise Premium. This is an upgraded version of Chrome Enterprise that comes with expanded security control features, and especially requires a fee.

For $6/user/month, Chrome Enterprise Premium offers some advanced security features that free Chrome Enterprise Core does not. The paid version features deep malware scanning, data loss prevention, contextual access for SaaS apps, Google Cloud, and private web apps through Chrome, as well as the option to filter URLs based on on the website directory.

Chrome Enterprise Premium also fully inherits the remaining features of Chrome Enterprise, including:

– Browser for businesses

– Cloud management

– Security and extension management

– Integration with third parties

– Manage through third-party solutions

– Protection from malware and phishing

– Chrome security details
