Microsoft kills Windows 8.1 operating system

Microsoft will stop supporting the Windows 8.1 operating system from January 10 on all laptops and PC.

Microsoft has officially announced after January 10, 2023, computer users on Windows 8.1 operating systems will not be supported for technical problems for whatever reason. Software and security updates on that version are no longer available.

However, computers using this operating system can still be used normally, but there will be no more updates. For this reason, Microsoft recommends that computer users upgrade to a newer operating system, such as Windows 11.

Apps and games on Windows 8.1 starting January 10 will no longer be able to purchase and install apps on that version.

The latest version of the browser that supports Windows 8.1 is Microsoft Edge version 109, scheduled to be released on January 13.

Microsoft released Windows 8.1 operating system in 2013. This system is mainly for touch screen desktop computers, but also supports regular computers.
