Grand Theft Auto titles offer players a vast city to explore with bunches of NPCs in the game, which makes the whole map more lively and more colorful. Besides characters that have impact on the gameplay, there are NPCs that have their own storyline, but some of them are not so lucky to have a good base story. Let’s discover some of the sorrowful lives of NPCs in GTA 5.
Runaway bride
While we do not know the name of this NPC, the sole appearance of hers is in the wedding dress. Players can find her near a church on Route 68, calling out for help to escape from the wedding, probably hers. When players give her a lift, she reveals the story of marrying to a successful man. However, she is not happy due to the groom’s anger problem and other issues such as cheating. Later on, players will encounter the groom, chasing them in an attempt to ram them off the road. Maybe her decision to escape is correct.
Antonia Bottino
For those who have experienced Grand Theft Auto IV, the name Bottino is not a strange name as it’s the name of Gambetti Crime Family. You my encounter Antonia Bottino around a dirt track close to Paleto Bay, where her life is at stake. Despite that, she is openly revealing her life story to the 3 main characters. Antonia’s family had to go hide themselves after the father was convicted, they went out western direction. The enemies are after every connection of the father, including Antonia. The father’s mistakes have affected the whole family, leave the daughter on the edge of her life.
Patricia Madrazo
This NPC has a close tie to Trevor. She is Martin Madrazo’s wife, who is a supporting character in GTA 5 and a main player in Grand Theft Auto Online. Although being a powerful man, Martin has been abusing and cheating on his wife multiple times. This has led to many bad impacts on the poor lady. When Trevor comes for her later on in the game, she starts to have a feeling for him. However, this could be the result of Stockholm syndrome after a long time of being abuse by her husband.
Mrs. Philips
This Strangers and Freaks has a close relationship with the protagonists of GTA 5, as Mrs. Philips is Trevor’s mother. There are hints implying that Trevor’s mother was neglectful and abusive when they were together in the past. She later disappeared from his life, before the small reunion in the game. To be able to let these persons meet, players need to complete the storyline without Trevor’s death, after “The Time’s Come” or “The Third Way”. After that, when Trevor enters his trailer, we will see his mother awaiting inside. She claims to have no insurance and be in pain, and need Trevor to find a “truck load” with 1000mg doses. Trevor agrees and starts looking for it, but once he returns his place, Mrs. Philips is no longer there.
Lazlow Jones
This NPC is a prominent character throughout the Grand Theft Auto titles, starting from GTA 3. He was only shown as a DJ for various radio stations. As the series progressed, Lazlow began developing his own eccentric, deviant, and sometimes illegal behaviors. This resulted in him being fired from or forced out of a series of hosting jobs under cloudy circumstances. GTA 5 is the first title that we have seen his physical appearance, but he is still a bad luck character with false behavior. He was pierced through his eyebrow, nose, and ear by Michael.
